When now-a-days we’re frustrated so much about our life or meaning of life, then one movie like "It’s A Wonderful life" can shake our feelings about life. I’m not telling that this movie can bring a u-turn in one's life that is in a strong distress, but it can bring some healing to him/her. It tells the story of a very ambitious & adventurous man named George Bailey, & also caring minded for others. Even he has to sacrifice his own destiny of life to sustain the Building & Loan Company as a successor of his father, which company helps people to make a good living, having a house or shop of their own instead of crawling & to be bound to Mr. Henry F. Potter, the richest man of the town & the owner of almost all the houses & companies of the town except the Building & Loan Company. Our hero George sacrifices all his happiness for his countrymen’s good & works hard for them. But the real crisis starts for George when his uncle loses money. A fear of scandal & bankruptcy arises, he then goes to Potter to seek help, & been harshly insulted. He then thinks to suicide & also thinks that it would be good if he was never born. Then an angel comes to him, returns him from a suicide attempt & god grants the wish of George to see what would happened to the world if he was never born. In the world without George everything including his family, friends & the town became disordered. After watching these terrible scenes of the world without him, he cries out to god to give his life back whatever happens to him. He then returns to his home, he finds the new meaning of life. His old friends help him to recover from his crisis. The motto of this movie is: “Remember, No man is a failure who has friends.” Every life is important & is not meaningless, & every man’s nonexistence affects the life of others.
This is the 11th best movie of all time & no. 1 cheerful movie by American Film Institute. It won 5 Oscar nominations & 4 other wins.
One of the greatest actors of Hollywood-James Stewart played as George Bailey. Other main casts are Donna Reed as Mrs. Bailey & Lionel Barrymore as Mr. Potter. Frank Capra is the director, is a master of creating films with a message that reinforces strong values. This is probably his greatest film in that regard. Both he and Stewart have publicly stated that this is their favorite film. This movie released on 7th January 1947 in black & white version & 3 remaking has ever done in color. It's an enduring classic that is viewed and loved by generation after generation.
